Help your employees achieve vitality by increasing their health literacy and overall well-being.
As a decision maker in your workplace, you know how important the health and wellbeing of your employees are, and that it can impact your insurance rates. Improving the health literacy of your team will help your employees achieve wellness as they improve their fitness and overall health. The West Cook YMCA stands ready to partner with you to help your employees achieve vitality so they can bring their best selves to the workplace every day.
Through Workplace Wellness from the West Cook Y, you can provide YMCA memberships to your employees – and your company will receive special benefits for Workplace Wellness Members only.
Why Workplace Wellness? Fit employees . . .
- Are less likely to get sick. A person who is physically fit is generally more resistant to the “office bug” than a person who is not fit. You benefit from reduced absenteeism and reduced health care expenses.
- Have more energy and can better remain focused on the task at hand. That means increased productivity!
- Have more self-confidence. They challenge themselves and strive for higher levels of achievement in the workplace.
- Tend to set and achieve goals. Succeeding in a fitness program requires individuals to set and strive toward goals. Learning to set and meet goals is a skill that is often transferred to the workplace.
- Tend to have better attitudes. They have a greater sense of physical and mental balance that results in a more positive attitude in the workplace.
- Are less stressed. A consistent exercise routine releases the physical and emotional tensions that life brings our way.
- Have lower health costs both now and in the future. As employees learn to prevent or manage chronic diseases, their need for long-term medical care can decrease – and that can positively impact your bottom line in terms of lower insurance premiums!
Tell your employees they matter.
Employees appreciate an employer who cares about their health, and feel a greater sense of value when their company shows concern for their health and well-being. Additionally, research shows that employee turnover is lower among employees who take advantage of a wellness program implemented by their employer.
