Personal Training provides a stellar opportunity for you to improve your fitness. At the West Cook Y, we offer individual training and group training. Individual training is available for those who want to train on their own, according to their own schedule. Group training is a more affordable option for friends or couples who would like to train together. FitKids (personal training for kids) is available for children up to age 17 who are interested in learning how to improve their health.
Certified personal trainers are available at convenient times to give you individual attention. Each package contains an initial Fitness Consultation to determine your goals and what each session will include. Sessions are 60 or 30 minutes in length.

REGISTER AND SCHEDULE YOUR PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION
REGISTRATION (FIRST STEP):
- Select the personal training session that suits your needs and REGISTER ONLINE HERE. You can also register in person by visiting the Member Engagement Desk or by phone by calling 708.383.5200
- Within 24 hours, you will receive a notification that you are ready to schedule your appointment

SCHEDULE YOUR SESSIONS (SECOND STEP):
- Once you have registered for your Personal Training Session(s). Use the box below to enter your first name, last name, and phone number (input the phone number used for your YMCA account or for a previous appointment booking).
- Select the appointment type, and your preferred date and instructor.

Free Fitness Consultations
We’re here to help you meet your goals! Whether you are looking for guidance on how to get started, advice on what to do next, or an in-depth fitness assessment, we want to assist you in reaching your health goals.
All fitness consultations may include the following three things:
One-on-one Meeting with a Personal Trainer: This meeting will allow our personal trainers to help you determine your goals and the best way to achieve those goals through the programs at the West Cook YMCA.
FREE Fitness Assessment: This assessment will include analysis on body composition, blood pressure, cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and flexibility. This assessment will allow you to better understand where you are in your healthy lifestyle journey and areas in which you can begin to set goals and improve your health.
Wellness Center Orientation: The Personal Trainer will give you an overview of the Wellness Center and the equipment, as well as information on the programs that interest you.
Register for your FREE Fitness Consultation at the Member Engagement Desk. Members are entitled to two Fitness Consultations per year. Failure to cancel a scheduled session 24 hours in advance will result in forfeiture of free consultation.
Free Wellness Center Orientation (ages 10-15)
Youth participants will learn the basics of using cardio machines and a select number of strength machines. All Youth ages 10-15 are REQUIRED to have a Wellness Center Orientation prior to using the equipment. 12-15 year olds may then use the Wellness Center on their own, and 10-11 year olds must have a parent or guardian (18+) with them. Children under 16 may not use the Free Weights Area unless working with a Y Personal Trainer. Sign up at the Membership Engagement Desk for your orientation. Parent/guardian must accompany child at orientation.
