MEET YOUR WEST COOK YMCA PERSONAL TRAINERS and Fitness Instructors!
associate director of fitness programming & services
Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor
I have been with the Y since 2012 as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor where I can use my dance background and passion for the human body and its movement to help people understand how exercise can be a form of preventative maintenance and/or recovery. At the West Cook YMCA, I can continue to make an impact on the community, helping people develop and achieve their goals. We will regularly use assessment tools to track goal progress as you do not know how far you have come if you don’t know where you started! Together, we can improve your strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, confidence, and a sense of independence in the body this world has given you. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, 3 kids and 2 puppies. When the weather is nice, you will find me outdoors!
Certifications: Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, with certifications in LiveSTRONG at the YMCA, Moving for Better Balance and TRX Suspension Training.
I have been a certified athletic trainer for 11 years and teaching classes at the YMCA for 1.5 years. I moved to the area 9 years ago. I was looking for a gym where the focus was on community. The Y fit the bill perfectly. I enjoy all of the people at the Y, from the front desk staff to the class members to the residents. I have enjoyed having the Y as a part of my daily routine. I started at the Y as a member and quickly felt at home. I was challenged by the classes and made many fitness friends who were pushing me to reach new fitness goals. As I got more ingrained in the WCY, I decided I wanted to contribute to others success! So I started teaching group ex classes and have loved taking my class participants on their fitness journeys.
Certifications: MSEd--Exercise Physiology, Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer
