Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development and Communications Manager is an integral part of the Mission Advancement team to build our brand’s awareness through the development and implementation of the Y’s marketing strategies and communication processes, both external and internal that will drive enrollment for our programs and services, increase our member engagement, and strengthen our relationships with community partners and our donors. The Manager will also support all aspects of fundraising that leads to an increase in donors and contributions including solicitation of members for the annual support campaign, grants, and special events.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assists with the implementation of strategies to drive revenue and meet goals as set by the Mission Advancement
  2. Implements all fundraising efforts including annual support campaign, major gifts, special events, and assists with
  3. Assists with developing, coordinating, and/or advocating at special events, presentations, and membership promotions with the YMCA and the
  4. Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of the organization and its programs to develop persuasive presentations, proposals, reports, etc. through research, writing, proofreading, and development of
  5. Process all gifts, pledges in donor database and send acknowledgements; maintain donor records including Daxko Fundraising and donor files; provide analytics and reporting as requested; maintain confidentiality in respect of our
  6. Develops and manages all marketing and communication project plans ensuring timely, consistent, and effective marketing and
  7. Manages our Y-Cloud initiative including our virtual Y platform, mobile application, and open-Y
  8. Responsible for the design, implementation, and coordination of all print and digital materials including copywriting, design, and coordination of internal & external
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Mission

REQUIRED SKILLS AND REQUISITES
  1. The West Cook YMCA is a mandated COVID-19 vaccine employer.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree, preferred communications, marketing, or business
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising with communications experience.
  4. Understanding and capabilities in HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint and
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal
  6. Detail oriented with high aesthetic standards and exceptional writing, scripting, editing and proofreading skills required.
  7. Follows all the YMCA of the USA branding
  8. Ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership and staff; within a fast-paced
  9. Ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet
  10. Self-starter; Able to work independently
WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
  2. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  3. Ability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends as needed
  4. Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  5. Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
  6. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
  7. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  8. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
COMPENSATION
  1. Total Compensation is $45,000- $50,000
