“I always wanted to help, but didn’t know how.” The Oak Park Homelessness Coalition has developed an educational campaign that gives local residents, visitors and businesses the resources to assist anyone threatened or affected by homelessness. Last year, in Oak Park, 175 students were reported homeless in the school districts. By directing those in need to local service agencies, we can make a huge difference.
Through quarterly meetings, we have created a working definition for homelessness, a group of dedicated members from local governments, service agencies, businesses, and school districts, and launched a public-facing campaign. To find out more about this group, visit www.endhomelessnessoakpark.com
