West Cook YMCA

COVID-19 Member 6.29.20 Update

Published 07.07.20

Our region has entered Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan. The West Cook YMCA will move into phase 4 of our Reopen Plan on Monday, July 13th. We have taken measures to ensure the safety of our staff, members, and community through the implementation of business adaptations, general health guidelines, and a rigorous cleaning and sanitation regiment.
We will release more information about our Phase 4 plan on Wednesday, July 8th at www.westcookymca.org/reopen. If you find yourself ready to come back but unable to do so due to financial reasons, consider applying for a Rapid Response Scholarship.
In the meantime, join us for one of our outdoor group fitness classes, yoga, personal training, or in our pool for lap swim, swim lessons, or competitive swim team clinics. Reservations and registration is required for all programs.

aquatic programs

Reservations and Registration for the following are now open:

childcare programs

The West Cook YMCA has been nurturing the potential of our community’s youth for 118 years and when the COVID-19 pandemic closed 85% of all child care programs in Illinois, your Y offered the emergency childcare program so our essential workers could serve us and our neighbors. As you are called back to work, the West Cook YMCA remains steadfast in our commitment to you and your child through our all-day childcare program– regardless of how the COVID-19 Pandemic unfolds.
Go to work with a peace of mind knowing that your child will have fun this summer through our camp-infused childcare program in a safe and supportive environment that fosters the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development of your child. Learn more at www.westcookymca.org/childcare.

Join us in one of our outdoor fitness classes, yoga, or personal training. If you cannot join us for one of our fitness programs, Y360 and 12bursts has you covered with virtual fitness programs for all ages.

Personal Training

Certified personal trainers are available at convenient times to give you individual attention. Each package contains an initial Fitness Consultation to determine your goals and what each session will include. Sessions are 60 or 30 minutes in length.

Personal Training is $50 per 60 minute session. Register today.

Have you ever wondered what yoga is all about? Hint: it's not just about stretching, and you definitely don't have to be flexible to practice yoga! The ultimate goal of yoga is to still the mind. This is achieved through practicing physical poses (or asana) and connecting with our breath (or pranayama). Yoga is a holistic practice, uniting the body, mind, and spirit. Register today.

Virtual Programs for All
YMCA 360 is designed to help you and your family engage with the YMCA virtually from the comfort of your home. Popular group exercise classes like boot camp, barre, and yoga are taught by YMCA instructors.
12BURSTS is free to families and provides a fun and engaging way for kids and families to include physical activity in their daily routine at home. Each day’s challenge includes 12 five-minute bursts of activity that are kid-friendly and don’t require any special skills or equipment. Complete all 12 and you’ve reached the health goal of 60 minutes a day. A new set of bursts will load every day. Stay active and have fun.
