for a safer us
ensuring a safe and healthy y for your return
As we continue to navigate the pandemic and guidelines released by the state of Illinois, the health and safety of our staff, members, and community will be at the forefront of all our decisions. Our reopen plan is informed by the following elements:
- The West Cook YMCA Reopen Plan is developed to align with the Restore IL Plan and Tier 3 Mitigations released by the state. The plan may be modified and revised as guidance changes. We also expect to toggle between phases depending on how the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds
- Meeting the needs of our members and community will be balanced and focused on preventing the spread of COVID-19
- We will move into the next phase 10 business days after our region moves into the next phase as designated by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The expected dates for each phase are tentative and subject to change. We will comply immediately if the need arises to move back a phase
- We rely on resources from the CDC, Illinois Department of Public Health, Oak Park Public Health Department, and the Y’s confidence in enforcing compliance with all COVID-19 preventative measures to ensure the safety and health of our staff, members, and community
Although the way in which we can safely interact with each other has changed, at the Y, you will always be able to connect with people, improve your health and wellness, nurture your children’s potential, and strengthen the foundations of our community.
