Every day at the West Cook Y, moments of connection, courage, and community come to life. A child learns to swim for the first time. A family finds support during a challenging season. A retired adult discovers new strength and belonging. You make these moments possible.

As part of our WCY family, we want to share an important, and often surprising, truth:

Membership fees help keep our doors open, but they do not fund the programs, classes, or community impact work that make the Y so special. Your membership fees support essentials like safety inspections, maintenance needs, insurance, and utilities. It is philanthropy, generous,  financial gifts from people like you, that funds life-changing programs and ensures access for all.

That is why, over the next 6 weeks, we are working to raise $60,000 of charitable donations to strengthen our programs, expand access, and continue building a healthier, more connected community for all. Your gift, your hard-earned money, at any level, will create lasting change.

The West Cook YMCA has been strengthening the foundations of community for 120 years. 

  • $2,000 | Invest in transformative programs that strengthen our entire community
  • $1,500 | Enhance mental-health and wellness initiatives for individuals and families
  • $1,000 | Support financial assistance for memberships to ensure access for all
  • $500 | Expand youth development programs that build confidence and connection
  • $250 | Sustain life-changing programs for people living with cancer or Parkinson’s
  • $100 | Strengthen chronic-disease prevention programs (diabetes, cancer, depression)
  • $50  | Prevent drowning by expanding water-safety and swim lessons for all ages
  • $30  | Provide access to Y classes supporting a healthy spirit, mind & body
  • $20  | Support critical daily building maintenance to keep our Y safe and welcoming
